Illinois alumna makes Forbes 2018 30 Under 30 list

Ritu Raman, (M.S., Ph.D, MechSE ’16), who conducted research at Illinois as a member of Bioengineering Professor Rashid Bashir's group and Mechanical Science and Engineering Professor Taher Saif's group, was selected to the Forbes 30 Under 30 List in the Science category. Raman is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where her focus is on the dynamic interactions between biological and synthetic materials. Forbes describes her work as “applying new materials and technologies, like 3-D bio-printers, to build muscle-powered robots.”  Raman is among the 600 young notables who represent 20 different industries on the annual list, now in its seventh year.
