Program: Undergrad

Awards and Honors: Mayo Clinic Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship, American Society for Testing and Materials International Project Grant, National Institutes of Health Cancer Research Training Award, Cancer Scholar

Favorite university memory: My favorite memories are the research I was involved in, barn dances, and planning social events for my sorority!

Immediate future plans: I will be joining the NIH Clinical Center at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, MD for a one year fellowship immediately after graduation. I will be in the Laboratory of Pathology studying improved diagnostic methods for brain tumors. I will also be applying to medical school during this year.

Future plans (5-10 years): I plan to attend medical school to become a physician-scientist in the neuro-oncology field. I would consider someday becoming a brain surgeon.

I want to give a special shout out to: The leaders of the Cancer Scholars Program, especially Dr. Pool, for introducing me to cancer research right as I started college. The experiences I have had being involved in the incredible, groundbreaking research here have made me decide to pursue career goals bigger than I ever imagined.
