Teaching Associate Professor Marci Pool has been named an Engineering Innovation Fellow (EIF) by the Academy for Excellence in Engineering Education on campus. Pool has developed problem-based laboratories to enhance experimental design skills, mentored and guided capstone design teams (problem identification through translation), and is actively involved in outreach and educational programs, such as Discover Bioengineering summer camp, researcHStart, and the Cancer Scholars Program.

In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Pool is the director of undergraduate programs in Bioengineering. She is the third Bioengineering faculty accorded an IEF honor—Professor Rohit Bhargava was a fellow in 2013-14, and Jenny Amos is completing her fellow term in 2018.
