Description

We aim to use human factors principles and user-centered design to reinvent the needle driver. Observational studies and input from surgeons will be used to determine important characteristics of our final design. We plan to focus primarily on the device’s handle, tip locking mechanism, and device materials and constrain our design with a price point similar to that of current needle drivers. If successful, our redesigned needle driver will provide an ergonomic solution suitable for practitioners of all levels, across multiple disciplines, and with various hand sizes.
