Description
The goal of this project is to create an alternative to the cervical cerclage, as the mainstay treatment possesses risks to the mother and baby. The solution is a cervical cup that molds to the cervix. It draws inspiration from female menstrual cups, the female condom/diaphragm, and pessaries. The device will hug the cervix and create a seal. This will allow the cervix to stay shut. It will also be coated with progesterone, as this hormone helps with preterm cervical insufficiency
