Biography

Guillermo Monroy, Ph.D., is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Beckman Institute for Science and Technology and adjunct Lecturer in the Bioengineering department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

After graduating from the Bioengineering Department at Illinois (PhD - 2018, Prof. Stephen Boppart, Biophotonics Imaging Laboratory), he completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the U.S. FDA.

His professional background and interests include translational research and biophotonics, and enjoys working with students, clinicians, and researchers in other fields that bring a unique and constructive perspective to tinker and create new technologies that may one day improve human health.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his dog, Shake.
