Bioengineering graduate student Shachi Mittal, a member of Professor Rohit Bhargava's research group, has won a  Nadine Barrie Smith Fellowship, which is awarded to outstanding women graduate students conducting research in the general field of medical imaging (e.g., ultrasound, optical, magnetic resonance) at the Beckman Institute on campus. She is working to build digital molecular histopathology and patient prognosis tools for a paradigm shift in cancer diagnosis and survival predictions.
