BIOE has arranged for visiting students to stay at the Illini Union Hotel on campus. Once you have confirmed your travel plans we will provide you with reservation information.

Getting to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is easy! 

Air travel: 

To help students with their travel arrangements, as they plan for an on-campus visit to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign during BIOE Days (March 4-7, 2026), we are pleased to announce that we’ve partnered with Anthony Travel.  You must make all airline ticket reservations with them by following these steps.

  1. Please download and fill out all of the information in this excel spreadsheet (make sure to include your first and last name in the file name).
  2. Attach the spreadsheet in an email to Anthony Travel using the subject line “BIOE Days 2026” at the following email address: UITravel@anthonytravel.com
  3. Include your name, contact information and that you are a BIOE Days visitor in the body of the email.
  4. A travel agency representative will contact you and assist with booking your tickets.

Everyone needs to fly directly to Willard Airport.  For transportation between Willard Airport and the Illini Union Hotel you will need to take and Uber/ Lyft.  Please save these receipts for reimbursement after BIOE Days has concluded.

Personal transportation (if you are planning on driving to campus): 
        Please contact us at bioe-gradprograms@illinois.edu and let us know your plans.

Getting around campus:
        Illinois has an extensive MTD bus system that makes it easy to get around campus- find your bus route here!

BIOE will reimburse you for the following costs only:
  • airline baggage fees
  • Uber/ Lyft between Willard airport and the Illini Union Hotel
  • mileage to and from campus (if you choose to drive to campus)

 

Whether you're here to see the newly renovated Everitt Laboratory or the incredible UIUC campus, we know there's something here for you. Get a glimpse of a day in life of a bioengineering grad student, discover our cultural centers, or get some exercise at one of our recreation centers

Take a walk off campus and you'll discover that Champaign-Urbana is full of things to do, and we encourage you to explore everything it has to offer.
